Story development

The idea of writing a book grabbed my full attention. But I didn't know where to start. I had no experience as a writer. The only things I could brag about were high school essays written for A's and a few Harry Potter fanfics.

What helped me was the book "Save the Cat! Writes a Novel: The Last Book On Novel Writing You'll Ever Need" by the author Jessica Brody. The book inspired me and based on the prompts in the book, I began to form a plot. Admittedly, it wasn't easy. Who would be the main villain? What will his motivation be? Does the story even need a main villain? And what will the main character do throughout the book?

I called my sister several times, spouted my ideas at her, and she responded by spouting twice as many ideas at me, ha ha. Thanks to her influence, I took the love line out of the ideas, leaving the book purely an adventure book.

Little by little, the plot of the book took shape. A document appeared on Google Docs with twenty-five paragraphs summarizing what was happening. The only thing left to do was to write the first line.
